Style 49 is made from spun aramid yarns. Each yarn is thoroughly impregnated with PTFE in addition to a breakin lubricant. Style 49 is gentle on shafts unlike other aramid packings. Hence there is virtually no shaft scoring. The PTFE impregnation makes it a very dense packing preventing any leak paths. It requires minimum gland load for effective sealing. Style 49 can be used in various applications in the paper and pulp industry, sugar industry, slurries and general service.
