Sewage Treatment

Activated Sludge Process

Technomax offers the activated sludge process – It is a conventional aerobic biological treatment for industrial and municipal wastewater treatment. ASP requires large areas to set up and is the most reliable technology to treat all types of biological loads in wastewater. It provides the highest degrees of treatment obtainable within the limits of a practical economy. The ASP depends upon groups of microorganisms – bacteria, along with protozoan, fungi and rotifers, kept in contact with organic matter in wastewater in an aerobic (oxygenated) environment. An activated sludge system establishes and maintains a viable population of microorganisms to convert soluble and colloidal material present in the wastewater into activated sludge, CO2 and water.

Technomax designs, constructs, and integrates ASP plants for industries and municipalities where there is a continuous supply of wastewater with uniform and nutritionally adequate organic content – highly variable organic loads would be undesirable. The incoming wastewater is mixed with microorganisms in an aeration basin with a continuous supply of dissolved oxygen via a blower for diffused aeration. The wastewater is then led to a settling tank / clarifier where separation of mixed liquor solids from the liquid carrier is completely and efficiently carried out.

ADVANTAGES OF ACTIVATED SLUDGE PROCESS

The activated sludge treatment process provides many significant advantages over other options. Sewage treatment plants that primarily use the process for the treatment of activated sludge offer the following advantages:

  • The amount of undesired sludge is reduced.
  • The sewage treatment plants re-seed themselves with beneficial bacteria.
  • The activated sludge treatment process allows the emptying intervals to be longer.
  • The process is very reliable.
  • The process is more simple.
  • Costs are reduced.
  • The process can be odorless.

Moving Bed Bioreactor (MBBR)

Technomax offers MBBR-based industrial and municipal effluent treatment plants for industries that enable them to meet discharge norms as per statutory requirements. Technomax’s hands-on experience in designing MBBR-based ETP and recycling systems, and expertise over several installation in handling pre and post treatment for ZLD requirement make us an ideal partner.

The MBBR significantly increases the capacity and efficiency of existing wastewater treatment plants, while minimizing the size of new plant deployments. The MBBR makes it possible to attain good efficiency results of disposal with low energy consumption. MBBRs are used for the removal of organic substances, nitrification, and denitrification.

We also offer sewage treatment plants with MBBR technology designed for residential and commercial complexes as ‘standard-packages’. Package STPs with MBBR are available starting from 5 KLD capacity with MSEP or RCC construction.

ADVANTAGES OF MBBR:

  • Robust biofilm process – recovers quickly from acute toxicity and pH shocks
  • Compact with a strong ability to accept /load variations/shock loads
  • Offers excellent BOD/COD and pathogen reduction
  • No clogging of reactors and no sludge return
  • Low loading at the sludge separation stage
  • Digested sludge generation – no sludge digester required
  • Flexibility of reactor shape – existing tanks or basins may be used.

Activated sludge plants may easily be converted into MBBR tanks resulting in considerably increased biological capacity

Membrane Bioreactor (MBR)

Our MBR technology is a full-proof solution for treatment of both municipal and industrial wastewater. It allows you to maximize resource recovery, minimize costs and implement a circular-economy perspective in your operations. Our membrane modules bring together the advantages of hollow fibre and flat sheet technologies. The treated water is good for recycling applications like sanitation, gardening, and cooling towers.

MBR technology addresses increasingly stringent environmental regulations for the recycling and reuse of wastewater. Increasing urbanization and the rise of smart cities bring to focus the centralized sewage treatment plants (STP) that is looking to MBR technology to augment existing STP’s.

ADVANTAGES OF MBR TECHNOLOGY:

  • Treated quality with < 1 NTU turbidity and < 5 ppm BOD
  • Can directly fed to a RO system avoiding pre filtration stages MGF, ACF and UF
  • Complete automated plant easily integrated to a BMS system through SCADA or PLC
  • Compact system with a small foot print
  • High organic loading rates
  • Easy augmentation of old STP/ETP capacities
  • Easily enhance capacity by adding a new train of membranes
  • Reduced cleaning needs
  • Ease of Maintenance
